What is Waldorf Education Day and Who is it For?


This is a day to step into the classroom and meet our faculty.  
This is a great event if you are...

  • ...a current parent interested to see what comes next for your child 
  • ...an inquirying parent learning more about our school
  • ...a child/student new to EWS interested in seeing and experiencing a Waldorf classroom for the first time
  • ...a currently enrolled Waldorf middle/high school student interested in seeing what the high school has instore

What Can I Expect?

You will register to attend 1 or 2 Sessions for the day by getting "Tickets" for the sessions that interest you. 

Session 1 9:50am-10:45am

Interested in Nursery* or Kindergarten? Register to attend one of the following...

*Nursery Sampler will be held in February 2016!

  • Kindergarten Sampler - Bring your kindergarten-aged child (4 by June) OR
  • Kindergarten Parent Lecture (childcare available if needed)

Interested in Grades 1-12? Register to attend a Sampler of the grade you would like to learn more about. Children new to EWS are welcome to come to the Sampler.  If you need childcare for a child between ages 2 and older, please check them into childcare between 9:30am-9:50am.

  • Grade 1 Sampler with Mr. Wiley in 1st Grade Classroom
  • Grades 2-3 with Mr. Trueblood in 3rd Grade Classroom
  • Grades 4-5 with Ms. Borhanian in 5th Grade Classroom
  • Grades 6-8 with Mrs. Comaniciu in 7th Grade Classroom
  • Grade 9 Practical Arts with Peter Moyers
  • Grade 10 Embryology with Strouse Campbell
  • Grade 11 Projective Geometry with Rob Rich
  • Grade 12 Faust with Jessie Rabius</span>

IMPORTANT NOTE About Sampler Registration: 
1 Registration = 1 adult (with or without student). There is no need to register your student separately for the Sampler.


Transition 10:45am-11:05am

After Session 1, all children ages 2 years to 8th grade must be checked-in to childcare with a lunch and waterbottle.  Adults and 9th-12th grade students may attend the Brunch in the Brown Wing.

Childcare for children ages 2-5 in an Early Childhood Classroom
Childcare for children 6-9 in the 2nd Grade Classroom for outdoor play, ages 10 and older in the 5th grade classroom for board games.

Brunch 11:10am-11:50am

Session 2 12:00pm-1:00pm

KeyNote Lecture:

  • KEYNOTE LECTURE: "The Spiral of Awakening: Ascending the Ladder of Human Development from the Foothills of Middle School to the Mountainous Terrain of High School" with Waldorf teacher and lecturer, Karen Rivers in the Brown Wing.

Conclusion & Child-Care Pick-Up 1:00pm


Tell Me More About Childcare...


Childcare is available 9:30am-1pm for children ages 2 and older, $10 per child regardless of how long the child attends. High School students may attend the program with their parents.  Childcare requires students to come with a lunch and a waterbottle.  If a child is not potty trained, parents will need to expect to change their child's diaper when contacted by the providers, if necessary.

Arrival & Childcare Check-In - 9:30am-9:50am
Session 1 - 9:50am-10:45am 
Transition to Childcare and/or Brunch - 10:45am-11:05am
Brunch for Adults (and 9th-12th grade students) - 11:10am-11:50am
Session 2 - 12:00pm - 1:00pm
Childcare Pick-Up - 1:00pm
